WOTHIHC:

Although the weather was warm, the ice was cold as the 2012-2013 season got underway.  Although there were rumors of a walkout, they turned out to be unfounded.  Many players returned, with no grumbling about contracts or salary caps.  There were several new faces, i.e. Dean Yack and Joe Porto, but the rest of the group consisted of old hands, mostly players who have been in WOTHIHC for 20 or 30 years.  The crop of younger players who have joined in the last few years was entirely missing in action, as were many of the players who change in the "overflow" locker room.

Despite low visibility due to fog, a spirited game ensued, with Bob and Jerry giving up only two goals each in the first period.  After that, the scoring is only conjecture, as the aforementioned fog made determination of a goal very difficult from the bench.  Rumor has it that the dark team won by 1 or 2 goals, but this can not be verified at this time.  In any case, a rematch is planned for next week.

All of you, be safe in the coming storm, and I will look forward to seeing you on the ice.
